Why test automation

Automation by the TWS

Test automation with the Test Workflow Studio is a process for automating test activities within development of software. Test automation offers a tremendous acceleration of the development process for complex software with a higher percentage of regression tests and above all a higher software quality due to the increased test coverage.

Universal and distributed testing

Ganzheitliches Testen mit dem TWS

Test the entire system

There is hardly any software that stands for itself. Most applications communicate and interact with each other. Errors often arise at the micro level of development - but their consequences affect the entire system landscape.

The TWS finds errors across systems. Use cases and processes are tested cross all browsers and all-encompassing in an intuitive user interface depending on each other.

Witness real distributed testing

For us, "real distributed" means that not only one possible workflow is checked for errors, but all possible workflow scenarios of your system are run through simultaneously. With the TWS, you develop tests that take account of every single role of your subsystems and their interdependencies across applications. Thus, cross-system errors can be identified and corrected immediately.

Testing your software at the next level

Business value

quality assurance

Often follow-up errors occur during longer manual test phases. With the TWS, you can detect any errors early on in the development process and prevent unforeseen surprises in the further course of the test through preventive measures of the tool. Thus, all requirements of quality management can be included in distributed testing right from the start.

time efficiency

With simple block-building, automation of the test procedures and optimization of the development, you will have amazing time savings. In addition, longer test phases in distributed systems can also be permanently performed overnight.

complexity reduction

For acceptance tests, the functionality of the entire system must be guaranteed. Often there are made even more difficult or delayed by the lack of employee capacities. Test Workflow Studio reduces the complexity of all testing processes to a minimum.

employee motivation

Constant troubleshooting leads to frustration among your employees. Test Workflow Studio searches for errors in your software automatically. Test execution without direct user interaction and repeatability of all processes leads to much faster successful experience in the development process.

less staff costs

By saving time, fewer skilled personnel is required to carry out the testing operations. In addition, the intuitive test environment allows employees to develop and run tests without any programming knowledge.

Technical value

real-distributed testing

It is possible to perform cross-application tests in all distributed systems. The interdependence of the individual applications and roles are taken into account within the tests. By connecting the appropriate test systems, CAN-bus tests are also possible, among other things.

cross-browser

Test activities and workflows can be used across browsers. Repeated building of the workflows for different browsers is not necessary. Currently, the most relevant browsers are supported. With Chrome, Edge, Firefox and IE, the TWS covers more than 80% of the market.

build, change, exchange

Workflows can be parameterized. They can be called up, expanded or even changed in detail at any time. Individual test activities can be removed or replaced. So-called partial workflows avoid constant repetition of work steps.

surfing and testing

During web surfing, all interactions on the website can be recorded and logged live. The recorded interactions (eg. mouse clicks or shortkeys) are automatically converted into test activities. The recording of dynamic workflows is element-oriented, not via hard-integrated coordinates. The workflows are executed via a server and can be put into a queue in order to work even more efficiently.

integrations

The TWS is easy to link to TFS, Jenkins and TeamCity. In addition, existing test machines can be integrated into the automatic test process.

Success stories

"There are many change requests in our project every day, so we constantly have to make changes to existing functionality. Only with the help of the TWS was it possible to determine at the end that everything matches."

Sebastian G.

"Agile software development requires a lot of discipline, otherwise the quality suffers. So far, it has hardly been possible in our project to ensure the functionality and quality of past sprints. With the TWS, we now reach our destination faster, more structured and more relaxed."

Alexander H.

"When I'm developing a web application, I'm struggling with the different environments: the TWS allows me to record the distributed test once and then run it with different browsers, operating systems, and user roles, even parallel to each other. That saves a lot of time and nerves."

Ramazan Y.
